DadBot Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-28
DadBot is a personal-use group-chat assistant operated by Mike Cerrone for a small private group of friends ("the dads"). This policy describes what DadBot collects, stores, and shares.
What we collect
- Group chat messages the bot is invited to (text, sender name/phone, timestamp).
- Per-dad profile notes manually entered by the operator to give the bot context.
- Group calendar events when a dad explicitly asks the bot to add, edit, or delete an event.
What we do with it
- Generate replies and reactions in the group chat using Anthropic's Claude API.
- Manage the group's linked Google Calendar via the Google Calendar API.
- Compute basic analytics (message counts, activity) for an internal admin dashboard visible only to the operator.
Who we share it with
- Anthropic — messages are sent to the Claude API to generate responses, subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Google — calendar requests are sent to Google Calendar APIs, subject to Google's privacy policy.
- BlueBubbles / Telegram / Twilio — whichever messaging transport the group is using to deliver replies.
- No advertising, no data sales, no other third parties.
Data retention & deletion
Messages and profile data are retained for as long as the bot is active in the group. To delete your data or remove yourself, contact the operator at the email below; data will be removed within 30 days.
OAuth scopes
The bot uses the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar scope solely to add, list, edit, and delete events on the calendar the operator explicitly links. The bot never accesses calendars that haven't been linked, and never reads or writes user-owned (personal) calendars.
