DadBot lives inside a private iMessage / Telegram group chat for a small group of dad friends. It manages the group's shared Google Calendar, helps coordinate plans, and adds personality to the everyday banter.
DadBot is a personal-use, invite-only project — not a product you sign up for. It runs in private group chats that the operator (Mike Cerrone) has set up for friend groups. There is no public sign-up, no app store listing, and no advertising.
When the operator links a group's shared Google Calendar to DadBot, the bot uses the standard OAuth flow to obtain a refresh token. That token is used only to add, list, edit, and delete events on the specific calendar that was linked. DadBot never reads or writes user-owned (personal) calendars, never accesses calendars that haven't been explicitly linked, and never shares calendar data with third parties beyond Google itself.
